Sanctuary was written in-studio by local Austin musician and engineer Taylor Glenn (Aguilar) in 2015. With a Gibson Hollowbody, a well-loved kick drum, and other assorted instruments and surfaces, this song was built layer-by-layer, each building on the previous to create an inviting and warm feeling for the listener. After recording, the protools session was brought in and bussed out to a 32 channel analog SSL mixer and a series of tube amps, manual EQs and compressors, a convolution reverb unit, and more. A few hours were spent in this studio crafting the sound of this track, along with Austin engineers Will Moghanloo, Niko Castro, and Taylor Glenn, into the track you hear below.

During that time, I was lucky enough to have my Cannon 5D MKIII and a 50mm 1.3f lens on hand and decided to shoot the editing session. After the track had been finished, I Imported the footage into Final Cut Pro X, cut together the video around the audio, and incorporated synchronization and simple b-roll shots to mirror the simplicity of the song itself.
